The story

Alex from The European Bike Project will be spending another half year in the New Zealand. It was a simple choice for hi to take a bike there as well. He needs a comfortable mountainbike that will take him anywhere and will allow him to ride several days in a row.

Alex wanted a bike that is "ok" to pedal uphill, but his focus was on the downhill capabilities. It has to be sturdy too.

Choice was pretty simple for him, Kavenz VHP18 will do a perfect job. Since Alex really liked his VHP16, but 460mm was a bit too compact, reach he went for 480 mm reach (110 mm headtube, 420 mm seattube) and it feels just right for him.

Alex has bought some parts which are made in the USA (handlebar, grips), Canada (Switchgrade), Japan (shifter, derailleur, chain) and Taiwan (dropper, has to be compatible with Switchgrade). However, the majority of the parts are still made in Europe.

Bike is custom painted by Alex.
